The location was ideal for our day trips. We stayed three nights, found the accommodations beautiful and comfortable, breakfast was perfect, and the hosts were more than willing to meet any special requests.

The host was friendly and helpful, greeting us and guiding us to a recommended restaurant, even offering to drive us there in her car. The Châteauneuf’s location suited our needs, and the gardens were magnificent for guests to stroll around. However, we found Le Château des Monts pricey for the accommodation, especially compared to other châteaux we stayed at in Normandy; we were disappointed to discover that other châteaux offered equal or higher standards at lower rates. The bath towels also need an upgrade.

The building is beautiful and dignified, the staff are pleasant and the outdoor areas are nice. Breakfast was good and the location was just as expected, very family‑friendly. The standard was fine, but I have to say the room price felt a bit high compared to similar places we stayed at; the value for money was something I kept thinking about at both check‑in and check‑out, which left a sour taste to the stay.

The place is spectacular with a marvelous welcome; if we ever go back to the Bayeux area, I would definitely return.
