The location was a major advantage, and the old‑world charm of Gimanhala made it feel like a home away from home, even if it sounds a bit cliché; the only downside was that the property could use a bit more upkeep.

We were extremely disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone; the room and bathroom were filthy and unsuitable for guests, the online photos were misleading, the room was cramped and in poor condition, the floor was covered in hair, the pillows and sheets were used and unclean, the curtains and windows had never been cleaned, and the bathroom was shocking—the toilet was so dirty it made us feel sick. This is the first time we have ever seen such a bad hotel; it is totally unacceptable.
