The staff were friendly and the restaurant was good.

The location in nature was nice, the breakfast tasty and the staff friendly. However, I paid a hefty price for a “luxury/roomier” room that ended up next to the stairs and not very large, which was a bit disappointing. The hallway was very noisy, though I hardly had any trouble with other guests.

The food was outstanding. The bitterballen were a bit off.

The location is definitely one of the biggest strengths of this hotel. It’s a charming and quiet spot, perfect for anyone wanting to explore the Veluwe and its beautiful cycling routes. The rooms were renovated, but the work seemed mostly superficial, so they still feel dated. Hygiene also needs improvement: the coffee machine was greasy and dirty, as were the glasses and cups in the room. Mold was visible around the sink and in the shower. Mid‑day cleaning was very limited; apart from replacing coffee pods and emptying the trash can, the room was barely refreshed. The bed was exactly where we left it, the shower was still wet and not wiped down. The secure bike storage is a plus, but the access is unnecessarily cumbersome; a key‑card entry would be a natural solution today. Moreover, a large portion of the available space is taken up by the hotel’s own bikes, limiting guest capacity. Breakfast also had room for improvement: around 8 am the buffet was not fully stocked and it seemed as if one staff member was responsible for all service. While the selection was wide, some hot dishes, such as scrambled eggs and bacon, were not fresh and even lukewarm or cold. We are happy to pay for quality, luxury, and comfort, but unfortunately the experience does not fully justify the price asked.
