The Adler offers top‑class service and the food is outstanding. I always enjoy staying at the Adler…except during hot summer months. My only critique is that it lacks air conditioning. In summer, rooms on upper floors can become uncomfortable, and during a heatwave it can become intolerable. We stayed three nights on the 3rd floor, the hottest days in German recorded history, and the bedroom was a level above the entrance, making it impossibly hot. Two days were over 100 degrees and the sweltering heat was hard to manage. A fan was there but it only recirculated warm air; it only cooled you if you lay wet in front of it. A hotel of this caliber with the high prices it charges needs to upgrade and install air conditioning. This won’t be the last heatwave—it signals what’s coming.
