We had an amazing time at Shinseikan. Shigaru and his family were incredibly kind, hospitable, and welcoming. The family‑run ryokan feels lovely and traditional. The food was exquisite, with delicious kaiseki‑style breakfasts and dinners. I was the only vegetarian in our group, and the meals were especially well catered to me—every dish was superb. The onsen was wonderful; after skiing all day, we really appreciated a soak each night. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely come back if we visit the area again. Highly recommend Shinseikan. Thanks, Shigaru and family.

My sister is vegan, and the owners (a husband and wife team who speak perfect English) made sure she had full meals that looked and tasted better than mine, with no dish repeated except those she liked. The place is quiet, has everything you need to recover body and soul, and runs like a well‑managed operation. The surrounding area offers plenty of hiking for every fitness level and beautiful nature.

A great traditional spot with an excellent cozy vibe. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. Dinner and breakfast were each a work of art. I would definitely recommend this nice gem.

The food was delicious and the portions were perfect! You can soak in the onsen 24 hours a day!! There were also comics, and the large room let us relax and unwind at our leisure. The vending machine was near the front desk, but I had to look a bit for it.
