The place was clean, but every door was so noisy it really disturbed my sleep, especially in summer when there was no fan in the room to keep it cool.

I arrived late at night and the keypad for my room wouldn’t unlock; calling for help only got me voicemail and no reply on WhatsApp. The shared shower and toilet were a let‑down, and there was a pile of full garbage bags in the garden that left a bad first impression. Nobody was on the premises to assist.

The location in zone 2 was good and the price matched what you’d pay in central London for transport. The area was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable, though the common areas showed some wear and tear despite staying tidy.

The host communicated clearly and gave solid check‑in instructions; the quiet‑time rule from 11 pm to 7 am was firm and I appreciated how well it was enforced, so we hardly heard other guests. The spot was ideal—just a four‑minute walk to Stepney Green and tucked into a quiet residential loop behind a small green with cherry trees in full bloom during our April stay. Wi‑Fi worked fine, and the bathroom and kitchen were adequate, though a few extra saucepans would have been nice. The décor and flooring felt a bit worn, but that didn’t bother us; still, a non‑slip mat or a grab handle in the bath would improve safety, especially for someone not very tall. Overall, a pleasant stay that I’d return to.
