Hotel am Hafen Havelberg

“Im Grunde angenehm.”

The room and bathroom size were very comfortable. The house sits directly on the water, which is very appealing. The Italian restaurant right next to the hotel was solid and enriching. Coffee and tea are available around the clock. In essence, there was no staff on site except for a hidden breakfast area. Not that we needed one, everything was arranged beforehand. Still, it’s nicer not to feel alone in the building. The TV seemed too small in picture and sound for the room size.

Good location, large room, reasonable breakfast. The hotel had no staff. There was only an unlocked outdoor lock for bicycles, so I carried my bike into my room even though it might have been against the rules. I didn’t find any written rule about that. The owner (?) of a pizzeria in the same building was also rude and discourteous when I tried to figure out how to get into the hotel.

“Schöner Aufenthalt, leider zu kurz.”

Checking in was a breeze with a numeric code for both the front door and the room, and the on‑site pizzeria meant we didn’t have to step out. The view of the Havel was lovely, and breakfast was also very good. The pillows, however, were too soft and uncomfortable.

“Hotel an der Havel - eine Perle in Havelberg”

We’ve known the hotel since it opened, when it still had staff and a brilliant large integrated restaurant. Unfortunately, like everywhere else, both have fallen victim to high personnel costs. Still, we use this location every time for a quick stop or for university/club meetings. A major plus is the Italian restaurant (in the former hotel restaurant rooms). It’s clear the operators run the place with great commitment, offering top‑class food and service at a good price‑performance ratio. The location, the premises, the 24/7 coffee/tea service, all create a palpable pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. We use every opportunity!

Breakfast was solid, offering fresh rolls and bread, scrambled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, fish, and a selection of tomato, cucumber, and pepper, plus yogurt and granola; a few boiled eggs would have been nice. I especially liked the coffee and tea machine that was available all day.
