“Incubo”
The room was nice. (I have screenshots of the conversation and everything documented.) The experience at this B&B was terrifying. Initially, Mr. Maurizio seemed a decent person; we left to get something to eat or to have a snack in the room, and when we came back, Mr. Maurizio (who has a restaurant just below) asked if we were leaving. We confirmed, and when we returned we found the lights off (we had left them on because we would be back soon) and the kettle for tea missing, so we thought he’d entered without permission. Anyway, we didn’t argue or say anything about it. The next morning, I was supposed to leave the tourist tax and, five minutes before checkout, I sent a message to Mr. Maurizio to tell him we’d leave the tax money and keys on the table. He replied, “Leave them with a colleague who is outside.” My mistake was not waiting for the colleague; I left the money and keys in the room and went out. Thirty minutes later, Mr. Maurizio called saying the money wasn’t there and accused us of being rude because we hadn’t made the bed (when we actually tried to leave no crumbs on the floor). He then yelled at us and his colleague, accusing us of not leaving anything on the table (which, if he had logic, I wouldn’t have sent the money on the table and would have left). Anyway, that’s what happened.
