The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which left a great impression on me.
We were really impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations.
The food at the hotel was amazing, but as a 2-story bed facility, I thought the price was a bit too high.
The location of this hotel was perfect for a short stop to visit Echigo Tsumari Art field

“気楽な宿泊施設で、ストレス無し”
The breakfast was delicious, getting in and out was easy, and having a separate shower room from the bathtub was great. I can’t think of anything that was bad, though I’d note that the number of toilets felt low for the number of guests, so it might get a line when it’s busy—just a thought.
I was blown away by the building manager's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. With the crazy snow conditions, he came to pick me up when taxis weren't running, and even drove me back down to drop off my bag the next morning so I didn't have to lug it through the snow. He then lent me snow boots to hike to the station, which was a huge help. It's clear that he's dedicated to making guests feel welcome and supported.
The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a big difference to my stay. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a problem with moldy smells in the hotel, which was a real turn-off.
“Great stay in Matsudai”
The stay in Matsudai was great, with rooms and shared facilities that were convenient and clean, and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend the dinner and breakfast made with local ingredients; it was very wholesome. Nothing to complain about.
We were really impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations. We had the dormitory to ourselves, which was a bonus, but even if we hadn't, the room was organized in a way that made it easy to maintain some privacy. It's clear that the owners have thought carefully about how to create a welcoming space for guests.
