The property is gorgeous, tucked in greenery and a completely quiet area with breathtaking views. The price feels high for the average Indonesian traveler, especially since it isn’t the closest to the Ijen trekking departures (about 25 min by car).

The place is perfect for a trip from Bali to the volcano – it’s only a 30‑minute drive and you can see lush coconut palms all around, the room is spacious and the bed very comfy. The breakfast was just okay, some of the smaller fixtures in the big room were poorly maintained, and despite sending messages and e‑mails before arrival I got no reply; even the booking‑site support was useless, though the front‑desk staff spoke fluent English, which felt oddly disjointed.

Two things stand out: the amazing location right in the rainforest with a view of Ijen and the dedication to local art and culture. A visit to the associated Taman Gandrung Terakota is a must—words fail to capture it!

The hotel is unbeatable as a starting point for the Ijen trek, the infinity pool is fantastic, and the entire décor is exquisitely artistic—an absolute hidden gem.

The location is gorgeous in the heart of the jungle, the hotel grounds and pool are lovely, the rooms are large with good facilities, and the staff are friendly. The breakfast offered an extremely limited selection, the dishes were unclean and insects were everywhere at the buffet, there were long waits for food even when there were almost no other guests, and the bed linens were not clean.
