“Oasis of Calm and Grace”

An oasis of calm within an oasis of calm. The lovely house and Natchez are unlike any other American town I've visited, in a good way! Very quiet and safe, although restaurants close early—8 pm on weekdays, except Magnolia which stayed open until 10 pm and was excellent. Local dishes like shrimp and gits, crab mushrooms, and steak were all fabulous. Easy to walk home at night, great sunset over the Mississippi, and plenty of history on the Burn tour itself. Nothing negative.

“Great, would recommend!”

The interior was lovely and the staff were very helpful, matching the advertised look of the place. Breakfast was tasty, though the jam and butter came in cheap plastic single servings; a glass jar would have been nicer, especially given the price that suggests better quality and a wooden table top. The pool was huge compared to the number of guests, which was great, and the location is close to the town centre. Breakfast started at 8:30 with no flexibility—at a pricey spot like this, a window from 7 to 10 would have been more reasonable, so we had to wake up early just to keep everyone on schedule. They also missed asking if we were vegetarian or had allergies; a simple question would have been more welcoming. Each day’s breakfast was delicious and varied, and the house tour was awesome— the owner introduced himself to every guest, making us feel special, and we could see parts of the house meant for the owners, which were still pretty. The cute dog had a leash that looked like it’d seen better days. The ice cube maker in the freezer was broken, some tiles near the pool were cracked, and there were no plugs near the bed to charge a phone.

The pool, breakfast, house, and the house visit were all great. Natchez was not very busy at night.

“Everyone was very accommodating and the room was comfortable, the breakfast; delicious.”

The historical property was beautiful, with lovely trees and nice decorations. The trees along the driveway needed trimming to avoid scratching vehicles.
