The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, the location was great, and the green lawn around the house—something very rare in Italy—was lovely; the hosts are incredibly friendly and discreet, and we had a wonderful time. That said, this isn’t criticism but suggestions for the hosts: we didn’t realize upon booking that it was a duplex, so clearer description would help; we had nice, quiet neighbors, but that could have been different. In the bathroom there is only a small wall shelf, far too little for all the toiletries, and the house overall lacks storage space. The table in the bedroom is unnecessary; I would replace it with a dresser. We struggled to fit our clothes, and we were just two people—no idea how four people manage, since there’s only one clothes rod upstairs. The wardrobe needs a divider so that laundry can be properly stored. In the kitchen, more bowls for fruit, salad, a kettle, a bread basket, and more knives for meat and vegetables would be nice, maybe a garlic press, salad fork or pasta spoon—basically the usual kitchen utensils everyone has. The previous guests probably didn’t cook; we cooked a lot and had to improvise. More storage in the living area and kitchen, perhaps extending the countertop to the fridge. Food and drinks can’t be stored well except on the dining table or the small wall shelf. There’s no coat rack or shoe rack, so we had to keep jackets, handbags and shoes in the suitcase under the bed. I would replace the armchair on the upper floor with a dresser.
