The place is pretty remote and you have to pay someone to get there, even from Superagui, which adds an unexpected cost. The mangrove setting means the bathwater drains straight into the swamp, which felt a bit off, and there’s basically no food service on site – you either bring everything or know how to fish. Insects are relentless, so keep the door shut after 5 p.m. and stock up on repellent; even the room can get invaded by siris.

This lodge hit every mark for me – spotless rooms, friendly owners, and food that actually tastes good. The calm atmosphere made it easy to unwind, and I never had a single complaint; the staff treated me like family every day.
