“Nice Place Away From the Tourist Trap(s)”
It’s a classic older hotel with a lot of potential. I stayed for a week and asked for a quiet room with strong Wi‑Fi for work. I was shown several rooms and let pick one. If you can, ask to see the available rooms first because each one is slightly different in what it includes. Most rooms were comfortable and the Wi‑Fi met my needs. Hugo, the daytime desk clerk, was a gem and took great care of me, while Long, the night manager, kept the vibe upbeat with music during the nightly happy hour. Breakfasts were okay, and everything needed in Hoi An was a short walk away. As an older hotel, it needs a lot of work, and they were busy doing that during my stay – they were replacing the flooring in all rooms, which meant I had to move into three different rooms. The rooms and bathrooms aren’t as bright and fresh as the photos on Booking suggest. They’re aware that the old photo shows a mounted TV in a room (there are none) and that the pool water is stagnant and unusable. The pretentious will find plenty to complain about, but I’d stay here again anytime I return to Hoi An.
