The Parkhotel Bad Schallerbach is centrally located, 400 metres from the train station. It features a 1,200 m² thermal spa, infrared cabin, saunas, steam baths, and offers cosmetic treatments and massages. Rooms are spacious with satellite TV. The hotel serves Austrian and international cuisine and is a 5-minute walk from the Aquapulco public spa, with free Wi-Fi and garage parking.

The highlight of the hotel is the thermal pool, and the town also has a large spa, making it absolutely perfect for a relaxing holiday; if you need a change of pace, you can also drive to Linz or Wels nearby.

The hotel is in the city centre, but it’s old and worn out, with hair from a previous guest in the shower and bed; the single room is tiny with a mini‑bath, and the shower gel and silk sheets were never refilled.

We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor that was surprisingly upgraded at check‑in, featuring a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden; the spacious wellness area with plenty of loungers, the nice outdoor pool, and the higher price compared to nearby hotels were all well justified; the underground parking was roomy (though the entrance is a bit narrow) and included in the nightly rate, with an e‑charging station available for e‑bikes; overall the hotel looked very clean and well‑maintained, and the early check‑in from 14:00 was a plus; breakfast offered a wide selection, with fresh egg dishes prepared to order, and the service was mostly friendly, plus the current newspapers were available; the only downside was that the room lighting was dim even when all lights were on, and we missed a better bedside reading lamp.

The pool is great, but there is no air conditioning.

The staff were friendly and the outdoor pool was nice, but there was no working outlet in the bathroom, hangers kept falling out of their anchors, a gap between the mattresses, no air conditioning in the room, and when the window was open the smoke from neighboring rooms kept blowing in.
