“A lovely homestead, pretty surroundings and a great place to relax which was family friendly.”
We were thrilled to find a full set of supplies for a cooked breakfast – bacon, eggs and a loaf of bread – right in the kitchen. The sheep, lambs, pet alpaca and goat were a real treat, visible from the cottage and especially cute. The scenery was lovely and the garden well kept. The spices, condiments, utensils and cookware were all useful. The layout was spacious enough for our six guests, including three children, though two of them had to share a double bed. Outdoor toys, DVDs and indoor games and puzzles kept the kids entertained. The town is only a 1.5 km drive away and a pleasant 0.5 km walk leads to the front gate on the road. The property was very peaceful, though the animal noises – especially from the sheep and lambs – could be quite loud at times. It was nice hearing native bird calls and spotting them in the trees. The dining room chairs were wobbly and a bit uncomfortable, so we added cushions for two adults. The bathroom and two bedrooms had rather dull lighting. The ad was unclear; we thought there would be enough breakfast for the entire stay, but we had to bring our own supplies and found fresh eggs each morning in the hen house.
