The staff were nice and the diving instructor seemed knowledgeable, though the hotel sits right next to a small beach that’s good for a calm day. The city is walkable, but the dirt road gets very muddy when it rains. My partner booked an open‑water course while I booked a ReActivate, and I also booked a three‑dive boat package to join my partner on his second open‑water dive. After the first dive he became dizzy and started vomiting, so he couldn’t finish the course and I had to skip my last dive. They said the last dive would be refundable, which felt insensitive given how much we’d already paid for accommodation and diving. The room was okay, but it had spiders and cockroaches, which was not great. Our shower wasn’t working when we arrived, though they fixed it the next day. The windows were poorly sealed, letting in all the noise and mosquitoes. We booked a room with a “city view,” but it was more of a cellar room with a tiny window looking at a wall.
