The spot was right next to the train station and the lady who greeted us was absolutely lovely. When we arrived, only scalding hot water was available, and the next day it turned ice cold; there was never any water for the basin. The toilet didn’t flush properly, an awful smell lingered, and the beds felt dirty—sheets, mattress, and pillows all looked unclean. It’s just a super old place that sees no TLC.

Location… that’s the only thing worth mentioning. I was probably looking at the reviews because I needed a place to drop off my stuff after a Bromo tour, hoping for a cheap spot to sleep. TLDR: find another place. This “hotel” looks like it was ripped straight from a horror movie—so bad it’s almost comical, reminiscent of those 1‑star highway motels in American flicks. The only thing missing is blood and human fluids on the sheets and walls (I didn’t check, maybe they’re there). I’d already read the reviews (skip the Indonesian ones—they’re family or friends; there’s literally a girl who said “it’s like a 5‑star hotel” a few months ago, so if you’re going to lie at least say something realistic 😂). They’ve clearly got people rating it high to inflate the rating. My expectations were low, but damn, this was crazy. When I got there, the guy at reception was smoking cigarettes at the desk, clearly a chain smoker given the amount of smoke. I had to wait a bit because they had to “clean my room.” I finally got the key and entered. The room had clearly not been cleaned—dust, dirt, dead insects, and hairs everywhere. I started checking for bed bugs; there were none, but the room was full of insects, not bedbugs 😂. Small black insects were everywhere on the walls, and there were also some small white balls that looked like insect eggs 😂. The toilet had been sprayed with the shower head (guess that was the cleaning 😂), so the floor, toilet, and seat were completely soaked. I tried washing my hands and suddenly my feet were completely wet because the drain is broken due to rust.
