Great location ideal for visiting Beamish, Tanfield Railway and Causey Arch. Breakfast was delicious. Loads of places close by for eating in the evening or the option of using the shared kitchen facilities to prepare a basic meal. Would definitely stay again if in the area

Immaculately presented pub-based B&B. Friendly welcoming people, good communication. The most comfortable bed I can remember. Top class cooked breakfast. Conveniently located for Durham Cricket and Beamish. Recommended very strongly

The spot was quiet, the staff were friendly, and the room was clean and had everything we needed. The rear entrance made getting in a breeze. I appreciated the extra items like toilet paper and fans that were handy in a central location between rooms.

We booked the Ball Alley because we were spending two days at Beamish Museum, and its location was perfect for that. A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival, the room was more than I expected, and a hearty breakfast was provided, keeping us energized for the day at Beamish. Absolutely nothing to complain about; I will definitely come back.

Breakfast was good and the staff were cheerful. The location was convenient for what we were doing in the area, and everything was nice and clean. The downside was that our bedroom faced the main road at the front of the pub, so it was a bit noisy sometimes. I would have liked more air circulation at night, but a streetlight right outside the window forced the curtains to stay shut.
