The rooms were basic but comfortable, with clean sheets, functioning AC, a good shower, a nice pool, and a beautiful property. Breakfast was generous and great too. The check‑in process could have been smoother; even after paying in advance and uploading ID proof we waited almost half an hour for them to find our booking, and there was no response to calls before check‑in.

The location and genuine traditional feel were great, and free bike loans were a nice touch. Some comfortable chairs in the garden would have been good; food was limited and there was no bar.

I had an incredible experience at this charming Portuguese house, where the staff, particularly Prasad, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfect. The house itself is steeped in history and beautifully maintained, and the homegrown and homemade food was a delightful bonus. The island's peaceful atmosphere, where I could easily walk or cycle around, was a welcome respite from the chaos of the mainland.

My stay at this heritage building was a mixed bag, with some lovely aspects and a few disappointments. On the plus side, the building itself was stunning, surrounded by well-tended gardens and featuring a beautiful pool. The comfortable bed was a welcome treat, and pool towels were provided. However, I was shocked by the overwhelming toxic smell of mothballs in my bedroom, which made for a difficult stay. Communication about available services was also lacking, and the food options were unclear.
