We really liked the staff; Jim was an excellent proprietor. The beds were comfy and the location suited our quick overnight stay. For the type of accommodation, there was nothing we didn’t like.

A family‑run place with a fantastic pub; breakfast was cooked to perfection with high‑quality bacon and a generous pot of tea or coffee. Wi‑Fi was excellent, the car park was small, and a bus stop sat just outside the hotel. No complaints.

The bedding and bathroom were clean and the staff were friendly, but the window wasn’t sealed and the wind made the curtains flap. The single radiator barely warmed the room, and the hot‑water pressure was so low that only a thin stream came out, making a proper shower impossible. A silverfish was found on the curtains, and the hotel does not accommodate single bookings.

The hotel is within walking distance of Barrow football ground, and the staff and local bar patrons were very friendly, giving me a great evening. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and quiet, and I was pleasantly surprised by the value for the price.

The room was very spacious and well presented, the free Wi‑Fi worked brilliantly, and the full English breakfast was delightful. Staff gave lots of attention and support, and I genuinely felt welcomed. The parking lot was small, especially when several guests with commercial vans parked there, but there was street parking very close by.
