The real downside was the extreme sound‑transmission between rooms; you hear everything, which is stressful for someone as alert as me, though it probably isn’t an issue for most. The balcony dividers between rooms only reach my hips, so privacy is limited, and the curtains let in every morning light, making it hard to stay in bed with the hens.
