A modern house that’s comfortable, but the staff on the property and the real surveillance cameras on the terrace made me uneasy. I had to pay for two new toilet towels because I’d wiped the damp car seats with our used towels, even though there was no car shelter and the towels were only slightly damp. Everything felt money‑centric, and the owner seemed unconcerned with the truth of the cleaning lady’s false claims or how we were experiencing the stay. There was no check‑in, yet the checkout was chaotic, with a cleaning lady counting everything as if we were thieves and we had no idea how many items were originally there. I didn’t like that we were six people with four cups, a tiny coffee maker for six, a leaking bathroom, and a sewer smell after rain. In short, we won’t be back.

The house is very spacious for a 2‑bed, 2‑bath setup on a large plot, with only the gardener’s house and an outbuilding on the side of the front garden. It’s well equipped for self‑catering, very clean, and has heaters that will be useful in winter when the sun is scarce because of the tree cover. The property doesn’t advertise parking because they claim guests expect covered spots, but the front garden actually offers plenty of parking, which is valuable in this area. The back deck and garden are lovely and private thanks to the trees, though CCTV cameras monitor the rear deck and front entrance. A path in the rear garden leads down to a private stream. The village of Mae Kampong is about a 12‑minute drive (or a 40‑minute walk) away, and finding paid parking was almost impossible when I visited in December. A better option would be to arrange a return trip with a songthaew driver and park in the lot next to the property. Although the website still shows a tree house in the rear garden, it’s no longer there. The free breakfast promised in the booking never arrived.
