The owner is very welcoming and helpful. He offers to take you to town and show you around (for a big fee). The main drawback is its location. The establishment is quite far from the center (2–3 km) and there’s nothing around except other houses.

The family that welcomed us is fantastic, kind, and ready to meet any need. When we arrived, Sumi made sure to escort us to lunch, assisted with our departure transfer, and can act as a guide to explore the city. They also offer bicycles for use.

The staff were incredibly kind. English seemed to be a challenge, but they treated us to coconut, guided us through the entire Anuradhapura heritage area, and kept the facilities clean and spacious. Mosquitoes and flies bothered me, but using a single double bed for two people at 2000 rupees was cheap. The AC worked well, and the en‑suite bathroom was clean. It would have helped to have pest control measures in place; the flies were persistent.

The house sits in a quiet, peaceful area. The room was clean. The hosts were very helpful and did their best, though communication was sometimes difficult because they don’t speak English. It’s quite far from the main tourist spots and restaurants, so you’ll need a tuk‑tuk, bike, or bicycle for everything.
