Located in the Kumano Kodo region, Sansuikan Kawayu Midoriya features Japanese and Western-style rooms with heating, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and electric kettles. On-site parking and bicycle rentals are complimentary. The ryokan offers free WiFi in public areas and a restaurant serving breakfast buffet and Japanese dinner, within a 1-minute walk from Kawayu Onsen Bus Stop and a 10-minute drive from Kumano Hongu Shrine.

The tatami room on the riverside was amazing. I also stayed an extra night in a traditional western‑style room with beds, which I didn’t like. I bought a package that included breakfast and dinner because there’s nowhere to eat nearby. You won’t be disappointed.

The location is good, the room size is moderate, and the hot spring is great; the one‑night‑two‑meals deal is excellent, especially dinner. The room had a faint mildew smell that could be improved, and for the indoor slippers, it would be better to provide alcohol at the replacement station.
