We got into Shanghai and needed a quick night before catching the train, so the place was spot‑on – a decent bed and food places open around the clock right nearby. The only downside was the address: the listing sent us to a spot that was actually a 13‑minute walk away, and the phone number didn’t work either.

The staff here are genuinely nice, especially the cleaning lady who always had a smile and kept the room tidy. Nothing else to complain about.

The room was a nightmare – filthy floor with food waste, a horrible smell, and other guests’ stuff everywhere, leaving no space for my own things. The bed was rock‑hard, the light didn’t work, Wi‑Fi was dead, and the bathroom was grimy with no toilet paper in sight.

It’s a budget hostel right in the middle of Shanghai and the staff are friendly, even though they don’t speak English – we got by with a translation app. Finding it is a hassle; you have to go through another hotel to reach the lift, and the tiny room with an attached bathroom wasn’t very clean.
