I was impressed that everything ran smoothly even though it was late, and I even got a private shared room all to myself. The downside was that there was no shower on my floor and the cleanliness left something to be desired.

I really liked it; it was easy to find from the train station and the city was quick to reach. The mattresses could use an upgrade and it would be handy to have a TV in the single rooms, otherwise everything was perfect.

Check‑in and check‑out were really simple with a key card for both the room and the hostel. The shared bathroom in the room was fine, the people were nice, the downstairs bar had a good vibe, and the common kitchen was cheap. The downside was that one floor had only one toilet per gender and there was no air conditioning or fan, making the room really hot.

The location was fine and the check‑in was hassle‑free. Unfortunately, I found bedbugs in the room, got bitten several times during the night, and could barely sleep—this is totally unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The room needs urgent inspection and treatment so future guests don’t face the same issue.

Close to Essen HBF. Room was spacious. Works for a really short SOLO stay if you're really tight on budget. The place is really old; it seems like the main business is the bar downstairs, so they don't care too much about the hostel upstairs. No AC or Fan in the room. Shower and toilet work but they're really old. Stayed 3 nights and no proper cleaning was done to the toilets or showers or anything, they barely changed the toilet paper. No elevator available, only stairs. It can get loud outside, since there is a bar in the ground floor
