Riad Kafila

We booked a room with a stunning ocean view; it was a little cramped but the vista more than compensated. The breakfast area and rooftop terrace were open all day, and the upstairs breakfast offered great food and scenery. A trolley operator had to bring our luggage from the gate because the hotel is a bit far from the entrance. The 50‑dirham rate was worth it, and there was also a guide to show us around.

“Un bel emplacement mais chambre très humide et trop petite”

The location in Essaouira was excellent. The breakfast room was bright and gave a lovely sea view, which was a real treat in the morning. The reception was warm, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 5, which was very small; I should have checked the size more carefully when booking, but with two suitcases it was hard to move around. The bathroom lacked storage and especially hooks for towels. The window was tiny, high up, with a sea view. Most importantly, the room was extremely damp; it felt like we were sleeping in wet sheets, making the nights quite uncomfortable. A better air‑conditioning or dehumidifying system could have made a big difference. We visited ten riads during our Morocco tour, and this one was the least suitable, mainly because of the high humidity and the small size. Unfortunately, the location, breakfast view, and staff friendliness were real strengths.

“Fantastischer Meerblick von einem schönen Zimmer”

The riad sits on the edge of the medina, a bit remote, but it offers a fantastic sea view. The covered rooftop terrace lets you watch the waves through large windows, and breakfast is served there, prepared with care. The room was tastefully furnished with a large bed. I definitely recommend this riad.

The place is well situated. The room and bathroom are very small and noisy.
