“Etablissement mauvais.”
The two guys at reception were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. I’m especially grateful to Teyyaz and Aydoĝan. What I didn’t like at all during my 14‑night stay at Antik Ipek Hotel Istanbul was that they stole 200 euros from my room. I told management and reception, but they didn’t care at all, even the big boss who knew about it didn’t move. So I went to the Sultanahmet Tourism Police. When I arrived at night, the room’s AC wasn’t working well, the kettle was useless, and the fridge blew hot air. I couldn’t sleep because it was hot. The next day I complained to management, they changed my room and everything worked (I was happy). During 14 nights I was never given new sheets or towels. There were large dust piles under the bed, the bathroom wasn’t clean, and I left two dirty towels on the floor; they replaced one but the big dirty towel stayed in my room the whole time. Apparently no one cleaned my room for two weeks except once to give me a small towel and they stole 200 euros from my bag. I didn’t have much cash on me, so I only noticed the missing money when I tried to take it out. I didn’t want to go to the police because the two reception guys were very nice to me (Teyyaz and Aydoĝon). A big thank you, but the management knew what happened and didn’t react.
