“Nothing like the photos – very disappointing”

The location was convenient, but this was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The price was not worth it, and the reality was far from the online photos. Cleanliness was the biggest issue: rusty faucets, a dirty shower, and a toilet with visible urine and feces—unacceptable for a hotel of this cost. The breakfast area also felt unhygienic, making us uncomfortable eating there. We were first assigned a room right next to an active construction site and had to complain from the start. The cleaning lady and the luggage carrier were polite, but most other staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and showed little concern for our complaints. The hotel does not match its online image, has unacceptable cleanliness standards, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Given the price, I expected a much higher level of service, hygiene, and accommodation. This hotel is seriously overpriced for what it offers, and I would not stay here again or recommend it.

“Below expectations.”

The location was perfect—Sirkeci is one of the most central areas in Istanbul, just a 5‑minute walk to Marmaray metro and the T1 tramway. Breakfast was okay, though the service was inconsistent; some days we waited over an hour for tea and it wasn’t prepared. We stayed on the top floor as three guests, and the overall experience was unsatisfactory. The bathroom emitted a very unpleasant smell that lingered throughout our stay, and there was also a slight damp/musty odor in the room. The room was clearly not prepared for three guests: only one towel was provided, with no hand towels or bath mats. Even after requesting extra towels the next day, only two were given, and the staff said they were waiting for laundry until the evening, but nothing else was delivered. We also asked for clothes hangers—there was only one—and no one brought any upon request. Bottled water was not provided, despite it usually being a basic hotel amenity. Small insects, including ants, were present in the room. The double‑bed mattress was smaller than the frame, leaving a noticeable gap/overhang on one side, which was uncomfortable and looked poorly maintained. Overall, the service was disappointing and slow to respond, and the room felt poorly maintained. On the bright side, the location was excellent and very convenient, the air conditioning worked well, and breakfast was decent with no major issues. However, considering the room condition and poor service, the overall experience was unfortunately below expectations.

The place was so close to the Metro and Tram, the food was delicious, and my room had a great view of Galata Tower.

Breakfast was good. The staff were unprofessional, the location felt unsafe, and the washroom wasn’t working properly.
