“A mixed experience.”

The view from our room was stunning and it was one of the largest rooms we’ve had. Our biggest complaint was the dining experience. The dinner menu was disappointing and differed from what was shown on the website (no scallops or sea bass, which I specifically chose the hotel for). One night my partner had salmon that was overcooked with stringy vegetables. The same night I had the worst chicken Caesar salad I’ve ever had; the lettuce was limp and the sauce ran, making the croutons soggy. The manager handled our complaint professionally. Unfortunately, there’s no alternative for eating because the hotel is so remote.

The lake view location is lovely, but the hotel and rooms feel very outdated and need modernisation. It’s way overpriced—you’re paying for the lake views, while the facilities and rooms are old and in need of work.

If you want spectacular daily views, this place is great for food and activities. The room was fine, but if you expect modern décor you’re in the wrong place; the hotel was built in the 18th century. The rooms were large and comfortable.
