Well, I have to say the room was over our budget. The dinner was also below our expectations and cost around 17000 Rs. I also noticed we were charged 10 US dollars per room for city tax? That doesn't make any sense because it's located in a rural area, not even a town! The staff charged us in rupees, at an exchange rate worse than the regular one, so it's better to pay in the currency you booked with. Anyway, they were friendly people

The staff arranged a tour in Sinharaya and a transfer to the next destination, but only one person there speaks English. The room wasn’t clean and felt a bit odd, yet it’s very close to the forest.

A small lodge that’s very affordable for bird watching. From the terrace you can see a small wetland. Every extra request was met wonderfully, and I received tips for exploring the area. The people are very friendly, the manager is competent and helpful, and it’s safe for a woman to travel alone. The locals are used to tourists. The rooms have air conditioning and are mosquito‑free. The nearby forest is great. It was a bit damp, but that’s just rainforest weather. The rooms are simple, which is fine for the price, and they’re cleaned on request.
