“O'nsen near airforce base in misawa”
The jaiseki dinner was wonderful, but the breakfast fell short of that standard.
“Excellent value for money, traditional vibes”
Half board was great and very filling. The onsen had a unique water texture, and the setting felt very traditional, as if many locals frequent it. A note: the shared bathroom refers to a public, gender‑separated onsen that must be used if you want to shower; rooms do have their own toilets. A private onsen might be available for a fee, but I didn’t check or use it. At check‑in, staff seemed to lack English skills and tools, so having a translator app ready is advisable.
“Terrible place to stay. Customer service zero level. Don’t!”
It’s hard to find what was good about this hotel. May be the woman who cooked and the one who cleaned. The room was clean and there was an AC. It was one of the most terrible hotels. 1. Due to the rain the onsen was closed. There was a high water and it was not possible to use the onsen. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and onsen was the only reason I booked it. We had no shower for 3 days and it was hot summer and we were sweating as hell. I understand that it was not possible to repair but the owner could propose us a discount or to pay another onsen in the neighbourhood. He could do anything to help us but he didn’t. 2. on the second day we came at 10 pm. We stayed here during nebuta festival and it ends late. The owner knew that we are not there as we said we will go to the festival. He closed the door and switched of the light in the building. We tried to get inside and we were desperate. We had to call police and ask neighbours for help. It took us 45 minutes to get inside. We had a child with us. 3. Every morning they switched on alarm in our room at 6am to wake up us. We were tired. We never asked for alarm. 4. No one spoke a word in English. I have a very poor knowledge of Japanese and that helped. Without it we would be lost. 5. the old owner clearly disrespects and dislike foreigners and he never even greeted us or answers to our greetings. Why to place your ryokan on booking if you dislike foreigners? Customer service is really unknown in this place. By far the worst place I stayed in Japan and in the whole world. Expensive and bad
“Value for money stay”
The room was fairly large and comfortable, and the public bath features several pools. However, because it’s open for day use, it can get quite crowded.
The onsen was excellent and the staff were super helpful.
