The air purifier helped cut down the cigarette smell, which was a relief; the twin rooms were all smoking, which was disappointing since I’d preferred a non‑smoking room, though I understand it’s unavoidable, but nowadays smoking outside the building feels off‑kilter.

Parking was free and plentiful, the price was low and the facilities were adequate; the hotel is often full, so it would be better if there were more rooms.

It’s close to the station, but the hotel is very basic, the room and bed were tiny—only suitable for one person, not two. Check‑in was at 3 p.m.; we arrived half an hour early and were denied entry even though the room was ready, and the front desk woman had to carry our luggage up to the room before we were let in. We were exhausted, so the staff’s lack of courtesy was disappointing. If you just need a one‑night spot in Towada, it might work, but options are limited.
