The sleep was good, but the dust in the room was a problem.

When we arrived, the receptionist spent 15 minutes on private calls. The room was a disaster and urgently needed renovation; it was nowhere near Motel 6 standards. The sheets were dirty, the towels were filthy, and there was mold on the walls.

The location was convenient for what I needed, but the pool was closed and the surrounding area was broken. The ice machine had been broken for so long that spider webs had accumulated. There was no coffee pot in the room or at the front desk. The toilet in the room was only tall enough for a toddler, had a loose handle, and would sometimes run because the flapper needed replacement. The faucet at the sink leaked.

The room was awful. The bathroom light fixture was hanging loose, and the shower head was falling off the sprayed‑on ceiling, which was also coming loose.

There was nothing about the room that anyone would like except a beggar. Walking in, it smelled like weed and the floor looked as if it had been mopped with dirty muddy water. Four holes in the walls—one at least 1 foot wide and 6 inches tall—had duct tape on the floor below the large hole, as if someone tried to tape it up but it fell off. Water leaked out below the fridge. The secondary lock on the door was broken. The beds were not queen size; I have pictures proving they were full size (54” x 75”), measured with my husband's 100‑ft tape measure. The front‑desk lady argued with me. I asked to speak with a supervisor about how bad the room was and wanted a refund; she never offered another room, never came to inspect the room until I checked out. She called me 30 minutes after I requested someone else to talk to (she had told me I’d have to wait until the morning) and said her supervisor told me that if I wanted a refund I’d have to check out immediately, which we did. Then she inspected the room, which I accompanied her on. No apology was offered for how bad the room was; she just took pictures and walked out. I still have not received an apology or a refund. This is the worst experience of our traveling. We normally stay in hotels at least six days a month traveling to see friends and have never had such a horrible experience before.
