The room was new, spotless, and comfortable. I loved the secluded, green setting and even spotted a fishing cat one evening. Because it’s so remote, there’s no place to eat on site, but the hosts can arrange meals if you ask ahead. It was pricey, the most expensive food I’ve had on the whole trip, but the hosts were sweet even though they couldn’t speak English, so we used Google Translate or their son on WhatsApp to communicate.
The welcome was excellent, with a flower and fresh coconut, truly very hospitable. The room is in a peaceful spot, perfect for relaxing. Don’t bother going to a restaurant because the host can cook wonderfully. It’s highly recommended! The room is well equipped, with new toothbrushes and razors available if you need them.
The place was quiet unless a wedding was happening nearby. The reception greeted us with flowers and refreshments, and the room had tea, a kettle, and a bathroom with hot water. The room itself was a bit small.
“Bel posto fuori dal caos turistico”
We spent three days at Village Life Mihintale, where a loving, caring family welcomed us. The place is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner are delicious. I recommend it for nature lovers and those who want peace, as it’s a great base for visiting the temples and ruins of Mihintale, away from city chaos and near a nice artificial lake. The room was a bit small and there was no garden area for relaxing with hammocks or lounge chairs.
“Book it in.”
I had an incredible stay and felt like part of the family. I was there for Poson Poya, and they brought me into town, showed me around, and explained what to do. The breakfast and dinner were amazing, making this a highlight of my trip. Nothing required too much effort, and everyone was extremely friendly. It’s worth a visit, and I was very happy.
