We liked the beer garden and the friendliness of the restaurant staff, and the hotel was easy to reach. However, the first contact was a phone inquiry about Sunday breakfast, and we were told it wouldn’t be served before 9:00—a policy that seems normal only for large crowds, and we couldn’t rebook. Instead we received a lunch box prepared carelessly the day before and handed to us after dinner, which we discarded in the morning. The room door showed signs of forced opening, the fire alarm’s mounting was only the ceiling bracket and the actual detector was missing. The bathroom door was a broken folding door that didn’t close, allowing a view from the toilet into the room and vice versa. In the shower, the holder was broken and fell into our hands, and an old, partially used soap or shower‑gel tube was left on the sink. One night‑stand drawer was also broken beside the bed.

The room was not in the main building but in shacks behind it—seemed like old tool shacks turned into rooms. I was put in the last one, and it was damp and stank badly. Spider webs surrounded the door, humidity stains on the walls, and a few red stains on the walkway. After the first day I told the owner I’d leave, and he said it was fine and would refund half the money (I booked 3 days but stayed only a day and a half). He even gave me a bill, but the half‑refund never came back.

“Hotel soweit ok”

The distance to the city and to Borussia Park is good, and there’s a bus stop right in front. The staff are very friendly and breakfast is good. The rooms have a 70s vibe; if you don’t need a modern setup, this place works well.

“Einfache saubere Unterkunft mit Restaurant.”

We stayed one night because we were at an event in Mönchengladbach. The location was perfect: street parking and a taxi to the venue in under 10 minutes. Before the event we had delicious schnitzel in the restaurant. The next‑morning breakfast was very generous—apples, yogurt, eggs, various cold cuts and cheeses, jam, orange juice, assorted rolls, bread, and buns—so we left the hotel not hungry. The only downside: don’t expect a modern standard. The building, rooms, and bathrooms are a bit dated, but everything is clean and the people on site are very nice.
