The house was really nice, quiet, clean, and in a decent spot; parking was convenient. Overall, I’d give it a 9 because the room felt a bit colder than my comfort zone and I couldn’t raise the temperature—the radiator was out of reach behind a desk. Also, the shower’s warm water wasn’t as hot as I’m used to; there was plenty for everyone, just not boiling hot like we usually like it.

“Spacious room with great vista in a cosy house just ouside of Hoyvík”

I had a wonderful, spacious room with a magnificent view and lovely décor. The kitchen area downstairs also offered great views and art. I didn’t see the hosts in person, but communication was very smooth. The location in Hoyvík is lovely, surrounded by flowers, close to bus stops, a museum, nature, and a supermarket. It’s a fabulous spot for the views and relaxation, though if you expect to be very close to the sights in Tórshavn this might not be the best spot, even with the free buses. The kitchenette area upstairs feels a bit cramped; most guests used it respectfully, but not everyone did. The single bathroom is shared by many, which is unavoidable given the hosts’ effort to keep it tidy, cosy, and the house rules clear.

The house’s comfort, its location, the large, well‑equipped kitchen, the view from the room, and the bed’s comfort were all great. The shared bathroom is sometimes occupied by guests from other rooms, but there is an extra bathroom available in the basement.
