However, the shower drain was poor and water pooled a few centimeters, and the skylight had a cover that blocked the view outside.

The place is near the old city walls. The hosts were completely unresponsive for over a day, and I never got an answer about whether an electric kettle was in the room. The room is actually on the 4th floor, an attic, and no one told me I’d have to climb to reach it. People with mobility issues or even middle-aged guests would struggle with the trapdoor in the ceiling. The only electric socket in the bathroom didn’t work, nor did the night light lamp by the bed. There were no blinds, just a solid white adhesive on the window, so it was either dark in cold weather or cold inside if you opened it. The bathroom tiles blocked the main door opening. The internet was slow and unreliable, and the shower was on wooden blocks with sloping outlet pipes that made me hesitant to use it. The room was about 20‑25 sq m max, and the sloped ceiling made part of it inaccessible.

The room was large, very clean, and well equipped. The building entry instructions were in French and unclear; they didn’t mention that after the code you had to press the KEY SIGN. When I called the listed number, no one answered. The stairs to reach my room were very steep.

A snug attic room that had all the essentials for a brief visit, and it was just a stone’s throw from the city centre and a bunch of eateries. The downside was that the attic window lacked a proper blind, letting in too much light when the sun came up, and the trams nearby can get pretty loud, even rattling the building at times.
