I stayed in a huge, luxurious room that was nicely furnished and offered great views from the terrace. The breakfast was generous and tasty. However, there was no key to the room, so we had to leave our belongings inside the room that opened onto the terrace with no other door before the driveway while we were out all day.

The setting was beautiful and felt like stepping into history, with sympathetic restoration. I enjoyed a lovely suite and a very attentive host, and breakfast was excellent, served right in our suite.

I thought I had accidentally booked a night in a museum, but this place was amazing for the price. The rooms are spacious, well furnished, and the bed is the most comfortable I’ve slept on in years. The house sits in a quiet, picturesque area, great for walking, and I appreciated the host’s nice communication. The Wi‑Fi isn’t very fast, but it’s good that there is a connection at all, so I can’t really complain.

Fantastic building and architecture. Impressive drive off the road through parkland containing very mature trees and expansive views. The bed and bedding quality was superb and sumptuous. Lovely big bedroom, lounge and bathroom. Responsive owners during our stay. We stayed in the king room with a garden view ( the yellow room) on the ground floor. Unfortunately the guest upstairs was quite noisy until quite late 11.45 pm and we struggling to fall asleep. Noise can be heard from creaking joists and floorboards. It's dependant on the guest above I suppose being heavy footed or not. We notified the owner who apologised and reduced our room rate to compensate. As I mentioned at the time if this information had been regarding the room above, I could have made an informed decision. And the only other small niggle. I would describe this room having as a courtyard view rather than a garden view
