The Evergreen Hotel

“Very unpleasant!”

We booked a king room but were given a queen instead, and the king room’s shower drain was broken, leaving a mess that the manager never fixed. At 11 pm we were moved to a queen on another floor, and the manager’s response was simply “we’ll give you a free night” and that was all. We were celebrating our 55th anniversary, yet nothing went right at Evergreen, and I’ll never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. The management seemed indifferent, saying the hotel was full and a couple’s bad stay didn’t matter.

“Excellent hotel and staff.”

It’s a stunning hotel and the staff are truly excellent, but nothing else really stands out.

“A complete disappointment”

We had high hopes when we checked in. The lobby was modern, clean, and the room was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. But that’s where the positives ended. The bathroom was basically unusable; the toilet wouldn’t flush—a fact you only discover after using it. Because we were staying just one night, changing rooms was impractical, so we had to get fully dressed at 5:00 AM and descend from the second floor just to use the lobby restroom. On top of that, neither of the two bathroom sinks drained, so we had to share the other. Morning amenities were nonexistent: there wasn’t even coffee available for purchase until 7:00 AM, so we walked to the gas‑station convenience store on the corner at 6:15 AM just to get a cup. To add insult to injury, we were billed an $11.50 “resort fee”; this property is a roadside motel on North 3rd Street, not a resort. Making matters worse, the online room rate dropped significantly the day before our arrival compared to what we originally booked. A complete disappointment from start to finish.

“Buon albergo ma prezzo non adeguato”

The place is gorgeous, with a stunning pool and big, clean rooms, and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast, however, isn't included even though the room price isn't cheap.
