The hotel is a small, family‑run place that offers great value for money in its category and provides adequate comfort. Parking is free or included in the price, which isn’t common in the area. The rooms are small but perfectly functional; a slightly larger table or more storage would have been nice. The beds come with feather‑top pillows, which were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and varied – on one day there was Bircher Müsli with fresh blueberries and raspberries, another day salmon, and occasionally scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages, plus a lot more. Every morning fresh fruit salad was also served. A coffee machine was available until 17:00, after which it was paid for (€3 per drink), so you could still have a coffee in the afternoon – that was perfect. In the foyer there was a fridge with drinks and a place for guests to store a few items, which was also great. The location is very good: you can start a hike straight from the hotel, for example to the Höllental or the Eibsee, or use the Zugspitzbahn (just about 5 minutes to the stop) or the Garmisch‑P. – Eibsee bus line (below the hotel). There are also restaurants and a bakery that opens at 6:30 am nearby. What I really appreciated was how quiet it was, allowing me to sleep with the windows open. The downside was that the smoking area was directly behind my window, which was a bit annoying, so I had to keep the window closed especially in the evenings.
