The pool is fantastic, but the restaurant was not operating.

We really liked the attentive, respectful, and accommodating staff, plus the included breakfast, a lovely and tidy pool, and ample parking. However, I find it problematic that booking through the website offers a different rate than what is charged at reception if the initial charge isn’t applied, that the dollar rate is higher than the Central Bank of CR, and that rooms listed online are literally the most basic, which might explain the slightly lower cost. Also, the pool closes at 9 p.m., which feels too early.

“AGRADABLE”

The pool was a good size and kept clean, and the location was just a short walk to the beach with a nice quiet atmosphere. When they moved us from room 24 because the lock jammed, the new room 25 had a safety rail in the bathroom and a rug outside the shower, which the first room lacked. At breakfast we chose between banana or tortilla; we asked for banana and received two thin slices, then ordered extra tortillas and were charged ¢1500.00 for two packets, which seemed excessive. The next day we swapped the tortillas for bread and were again given two small slices with butter and jam for ¢1500.00. On the third morning they gave us bread without charge, which was fair. The price for the tortillas and bread felt high for the portion and quality, and such items should be included in the breakfast. The bath towels were very worn.

Breakfast was excellent and very complete, the location was good, the front desk was super helpful, and the pool was clean and nice.

Some staff were poorly attentive, there was no toilet paper, and we were never greeted with a smile; it was very bad.
