“lovely properties, clear directions to operate fireplace, and extinguisher operational”
The facility was beautiful and the vibe was loved; the room was comfortable and clean, the grounds were lovely, and the management company and grounds staff were amazing. Even though we had a particular issue, the staff were helpful and great to work with. They moved us to a “sister” facility, and the grounds person personally took us there and ensured we were settled. He was kind and even checked on us at checkout to make sure our stay at the new place was comfortable. The problem was with the fireplace: there were unclear instructions on how to open the flue, so we thought it was open when it wasn’t, causing the room to fill with smoke and the fire alarm to go off nonstop. We had to call the management company, and they sent the grounds person late at night. I tried to put out the fire with the extinguisher, but it was empty—this was a big concern. The grounds person eventually opened the flue and put the fire out. Even after the smoke cleared, the smell was horrible; we were miserable with eyes watering and coughing, and my husband even got a bloody nose. We were grateful they moved us.
