The night view was beautiful. The air conditioner in the room was old and didn't cool well.

The staff inside the hotel were very courteous and pleasant, but the shuttle to Nagasaki Station left a sour note: they helped load my luggage onto the bus, yet when it was time to get off I wasn’t sure if they would take it down for me. I asked, and they replied they didn’t know which bags were mine, which felt oddly dismissive and ruined the good impression I had of the staff and the tasty food.

The draft beer served at dinner was ice‑cold and delicious, but the hotel fell short in many ways: there were few kids’ side dishes, soft drinks at dinner cost extra, the building felt dated with Japanese‑style toilets, squeaky doors and unreliable locks, many facilities were broken (toilets, elevator, etc.), there was no men’s restroom on the dining floor, the air‑conditioning barely worked, and you had to pay for parking.

I liked the shampoo bar, but the housekeeping was shockingly sloppy – hair and debris were left on the floor, the bathroom had no power outlet, and the room would have benefited from a mirror.

The foreign staff were friendly and helpful, yet the “mountain view” offered nothing to see, the curtains wouldn’t open, and at one point the window looked straight onto a cemetery.
