The site was badly kept, although the toilets and shower were spotless, getting there was a hassle because the grass was so high. The fridge in the Safari tent didn’t work, but the interior of the tent was tidy while the outdoor furniture was overrun with vines. We had to shell out an extra €30,00 to check in two hours early for a wedding nearby, pushing the cost of a single Safari‑style night to about €200,00. When I asked what my girlfriend heard at night I said it was birds on the tent canvas, but it turned out to be mice scurrying beneath our bed – not a great experience overall.

The wallpaper in lodge 2 was peeling off the walls and had odd stains, while the fly and insect screens didn’t line up with the windows, letting spiders in; insects were even under the pillow and the toilet was full of dead bugs. Despite contacting reception over the three days, nothing was done to clear the insects, and the toilets and showers stayed dirty.

It’s adequate for a single night on a layover but not suitable for longer stays; the accommodation feels dated, earning a 6.0/10.
