The welcome was very warm. The owners were exceptionally kind and very friendly. We will definitely come back if our future holidays bring us back to this part of the Ardèche.

“Grave agression”

I couldn't appreciate anything, and for good reason. The host acted like a complainant, claiming we were 20 minutes late after an 850 km trip, even though we had sent two messages on the platform that bounced back as “daemon,” and we had no phone to contact him. He first refused to come over after a threatening first message. Since we had no other lodging, I apologized. The man eventually opened the place after 20 minutes of waiting in the sun, inside the house (he was there and deliberately made us wait). Again aggressive, insulting, insisting he was at home and the client is not king, he finally told us to leave with a “get lost” and threatened to “block us on Booking.” We were lucky to find another place to stay. Reading the 5‑star reviews, I feel they must be fake, unless the host has gone into some kind of mild madness (or was drunk). Either way, whatever reason he might give, you should double‑check before choosing a lodge whose owner has shown such aggression. He wouldn’t have needed much (maybe a few centimeters more) to hit me. Run away.
