I was searching for a traditional Japanese ryokan and this place delivered wonderfully; the room was super cozy and relaxing. Everything was great, and even though I didn’t stay long, it was perfect for a quick overnight stop.

There’s a common game room overlooking the courtyard, which is very pretty, though the building feels a bit aged.

I was blown away by the beautiful, thoughtful, luxurious yet minimalist ryokan; every detail mattered, from the welcome and shoe‑drying offer at the door to the sets of pyjamas, free fridge items, and snacks. The little Library was peaceful to hang out in, especially with the small garden to look into. After a rainy, tiring day I couldn’t imagine a better cocoon to arrive in, and whatever you do, do not miss the food—both dinner and breakfast were absolutely stunning. Nothing could be improved.
