I stayed at this family‑run spot and it’s practically on the way to the slopes, with a charming gentemstick boutique that really impresses; it’s a lot nicer and cheaper than the nearby Annapuri Ski In/Out hotel I also tried, offering great value for money.

The staff were wonderful, always friendly and very helpful, and the location was excellent, literally 2 minutes from the Annupuri ski gondola, with plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, but the Pension Fryingpan only accepted cash for food, drink and other services, which was a slight problem since there are no ATMs in Annupuri.

Super close to the ski lift, the main area is a great spot to hang out with other travellers, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the beds are comfy, there are plenty of toilets, and everything is very clean, though the shower area was a bit chilly and it would have been nice to have more facilities for making or storing food to capture that hostel vibe, making it hard to decide whether to dine there at night or in the morning.
