The location is very good and the surroundings are quiet; the rooms are new and clean; the shower is super‑modern with a rain shower; the staff is friendly; laundry service is nearby; breakfast is very good (Asian and European—more Asian, as you’re in Thailand!).

Sook Hotel sits in a great spot in the heart of Ranong, yet it’s tucked away from the main street in a quiet area; you can walk to everything you need and easily reach the Street Market when it’s held, but the AC in the room is a bit loud and has a musty smell when I set it to a higher temperature so it wasn’t so cold; if you keep it at the recommended temperature it’s fine, though that setting was a bit too cold for us.

The bathroom is good, but the room lacks lighting and the breakfast is very modest.

The spot is great and the room feels fresh after renovation, but the work in the neighboring rooms started at 7am, and the breakfast stayed the same every day.
